Being a foodie comes with a lot of responsibility, trust me. If you want to eat good food and look good at the same time, it’s going to take a lot! So since I’ve been eating all this really delicious (and unhealthy) food since I officially started this blog (I eat more than I blog) I figured Holy Week would be the best time to go on cleanse to kind of reboot my system and clean out all the toxins from my body. Especially since I’ll be attending an Indian wedding in a couple of days which means buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner; a cleanse is exactly what my body needs.
I wanted to do the Master Cleanse properly but didn’t have the time nor the resources to make my own lemonade mixture. Luckily I didn’t have to look so far because healthymonstersph now offers 3, 5, 7 and 10 day programs for the cleanse. Healthymonstersph is this great business that serves up healthy and delicious salads in a jar, they have 6 flavors available. It is run by one (super)woman, Nikki Teves, who not only does the marketing for healthymonstersph but also makes the salads and delivers them herself! I’ve known about them for a while and even ordered a couple of salads from them before so when I found out that they now offer the lemonade for the cleanse, I didn’t hesitate to order.
The Master Cleanse is a liquid diet specifically suited for cleansing while resting the digestive system and allowing the body to heal naturally. I ordered the 3 Day Program but I’m sad to report that I only lasted two days and have a lot of bottles left over. The 3 day program includes 18 bottles which means 6 bottles a day but I only managed to have a maximum of 3 per day alongside a lot of water. The diet was really effective as I lost 3 pounds in 2 days. Although weight loss was not my reason for doing this cleanse, it was a happy side effect. The first day was not hard to do at all since I was very busy in the office and had a lot of work so I didn’t think about food much. The second day was a little harder because I was home and had nothing to keep me occupied plus my mom and brother chose to order KFC so the entire house smelled wonderful! I also visited the toilet an insane amount of times in the two days that I was on the cleanse which made me feel like my insides were really getting cleaned out. Today is the third day and I realized that the cleanse has made me very conscious of what I eat.
I broke my fast at 6AM because I couldn’t handle waking up and running to the toilet any longer (lol) so I chose to eat natural peanut butter on whole wheat bread. For lunch, I chose to have chicken soup with a fistful of rice and for dinner, I’m planning to have a salad. I also plan to work out before having dinner. I’m now consciously making healthier choices because of the cleanse and I have never been so happy with my eating habits! Every time I think of eating something unhealthy, I remember the Master Cleanse experience and decide that eating unhealthy isn’t worth it. I would recommend this cleanse to anyone who is looking to reboot their system or even just shed a few easy pounds in a few days (just remember that the first few pounds are always just water weight and very easy to gain back).

My digestive system is much healthier. I am not experiencing the stomach problems I used to experience before the cleanse and I feel less congested in my stomach and chest. I would recommend doing this cleanse every few months just to reboot your digestive system and keep yourself healthy. I wouldn’t recommend this for weight loss as much as I would recommend it for a sort of system reboot. If you haven’t done a cleanse in like 6 months, I suggest you get right on it!
